Where the cold actually comes from

The evaporator fan

The defrost circuit
If the fan runs but the fresh food side stays warm, the evaporator has probably iced solid. The coil frosts a little on every cycle by design, and a heater melts it off several times a day. The freezer stays cold because it is sitting next to a block of ice. The refrigerator gets nothing.
You can confirm this at home. Empty the appliance, switch it off at the wall and leave the doors open overnight. If it cools normally for a day or two afterwards and then drifts warm again, the defrost circuit is the problem.
